Color Fields
1988-PRESENT
Color fields are works that started in the eighties and continue through the present. They are about spatial relationships of color and form, playing with the paper medium, one type of fiber contrasted with another so that the image shifts with the light or the view, different stories, and different times. Since 2000, many pieces have elements for the Japanese technique of sen'i hikikake gami, a process of directional aligned fibers that accentuate a play on light. These works originally were cast forms but are now most likely poured and collaged.
