1980-PRESENT
The collaged pieces shown here were created in the early 1980s and are in national and international collections. These are free-cast cotton and abaca fiber works. I termed the medium "free-cast," a casting process without a restrictive mold. The irregular shape allowed me to enhance the subtle movement within the piece yet yield a dynamic graphic statement that was natural to the paper medium. "Seeker," among others, was exhibited at the Elements Gallery, my first one-person show in New York. Several freeform works, such as "Messenger" and "Affirmation," were shown in a two-person show at the Monterey Museum of Art in September 1984.
